345 Performance Update
Birth of American Celebration and the Colonial Guild Faire are right around the corner, February 8 at 12:30 pm. Below are some updates.
Rehearsals:
Starting on January 14th, we are asking for all of the 345 students to attend rehearsals to practice the whole group transitions, whole group songs, and entry/exit on the risers.
Memorize Your Lines
Please continue to work with your child on their lines and songs for the performance.
Identity Speeches
Students need to memorize their identity speeches. Please work on these every day between now and the 8h.
Shoes & Socks
All 345 students need a pair of black dress shoes and white knee high stockings/socks or white tights. Girls who have female identities may wear ballet slippers. Please make sure to mark your students shoes with tape on the inside of both shoes. The shoes and socks/stockings should be brought to school as soon as possible, no later than Monday, February 2nd. If you do not have black dress shoes, please contact DeDe Marron right away.
Hair & Makeup
Students will be responsible for doing their own makeup at home. Eyeliner, a bit of blush and lip color is more than enough for both boys and girls. When one stage, the lights and distance wash student’s faces out. Please put some makeup on your student for Sunday’s performance.
If your student is a male identity and they have longish hair. Please put it into a low ponytail at the base of their neck. We will provide black ribbon to tie in their hair, you may tie your own ribbon if you prefer. Students do not need to powder their hair or wear a white wig, but you if you like them to, please feel free to provide that. For students who are male identities with short hair, we may provide a wig. We are still working on this; if you would like to find a wig for your student, please do so.
If your student is a female identity with long hair, please put their hair in rollers on Saturday night. It works best to slightly dampen the hair, put gel in it and then put hair in soft rollers. Have student sleep in rollers and come to school with rollers in hair. Please unroll curlers just before coming to school. Spray with a strong hold hairspray and do not brush out.
Volunteers Needed
Set Design: We still need volunteers to help with set design. We are looking for several helpers to come in on Wednesday, January 14th at 4:30 (after rehearsals) to pull out background and props from behind the stage curtains. From there, we will evaluate what we need to complete our set-up and when decorating will begin. If you would like to volunteer to help Ms. LeVan and Mrs. Marron that day, please contact Mrs. Marron.
Performance Set-up/Tear Down in Cafeteria- We are in need of a crew who can help set up chairs, etc. for the performance. This will occur on the same day as the Guild Faire set-up day (Feb. 6th), right after school. The tear down will occur when the students do their final exit.
Guild Faire Set-up/Tear Down in Gym-Please contact Merry Sexton if you are able to help with this. She will follow up with more details. Set-up day is Friday, February 6th at 3:30 and Tear down is on Sunday, February 8th. (this should start during the performance if possible).
Currency Exchange Table: We will have a couple of ticket booths up and will need several volunteers to exchange money into Guild Faire currency. If you would like to help with that, please contact Merry Sexton.
Thank you for your continued support! We appreciate all that you do.
Best,
The 345 Team
Mrs. Marron, Mrs. Sexton, and Ms. LeVan
